Early Life
The first sentence of the Early Life section is unclear and confused. It reads as follows: “Beale was born in New York City, the only daughter of Phelan Beale, a lawyer, and Edith Ewing Bouvier (known as "Big Edie"), the daughter of Phelan’s law partner, John Vernou Bouvier Jr.” Beyond the punctuation error of having the sentence end in an abbreviation, it quite unclear why John Vernou Bouvier Junior is mentioned in the sentence. This needs to be edited for clarity, but it’s not clear what the original author’s intent on including this person. Are they saying he was the maternal grandfather? - Hi there, while I'm no expert on the King's English, and maybe I'm missing your specific complaint, but I don't quite see what the problem is here. It's a detailed sentence, but not a run-on one from my perspective; there's nothing inherently wrong with ending a sentence on an abbreviation as far as I can tell; and it seems fairly intuitive to me that we're pointing out that Edith's maternal grandfather had business ties to her father. The Beales, i.e. Little Edie and Big Edie, are notable for being quirky personalities with noteworthy family trees. It doesn't seem that odd to me that we would note the business entanglement between Little Edie's father and Big Edie's father. If I'm missing what you're saying, please clarify.
