Clean up

There are some facts and quotes that need referencing. I'd also question whether the sections on physics and cryptography wouldn't be better off in the main entry as they details his other interests and don't include information on his influencing the field. Equally his preserved homes might be better off back there. Thoughts? Anything else needing work? (Emperor 14:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC))

This will definitely need some work. We'll have to have some discussions about what belongs here and what belongs back at Edgar Allan Poe. I think we should be careful with the main article though because we're really trying to keep it a biography, now that we have all these secondary articles. I'm inclined to suggest that the Preserved homes section be moved back, but not sure about the influence on cryptography and physics. Well, maybe... Is this really needed?

Things have changed since this forked article was created. Now we have a substantial article on Edgar Allan Poe which has been recognized as a Featured Article, and a thorough Bibliography of Edgar Allan Poe, which was recognized as a Featured List. Much of the information in this article is covered in these articles, albeit briefly, and fully-sourced. Other information is already elsewhere (particularly C. Auguste Dupin in relation to detective fiction). It seems to me that we can expand the section on Poe's literary influence on his main article (if it's even necessary), and turn this page into a redirect to Poe's article.
