Declined as not verified - the website linked as a reference does not mention Cohen. Melcous (talk) 13:28, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Here is a specific page within the collection: Old St. Mary's Church. Photo by E.A. Cohen. I have place this URL in the above edit request. Greg Henderson (talk) 14:37, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
That link is a primary source that simply verifies one photo with his name attached is in that collection. You would need a secondary source to include what you have proposed in wikipedia's voice, otherwise this is basically WP:OR. Melcous (talk) 14:56, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Updated with two links to include a series of photographs by Edgar A. Cohen regarding the San Francisco Earthquake and Fire, San Francisco Bay Area, and Old St. Mary's Cathedral, in the above edit request. Greg Henderson (talk) 16:09, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I note from this source that these are in the unprocessed collection and are unavailable for use. I.e. they are in archives. Is that notable? It certainly suggests they are not valued for their artistic merit but are merely part of historical records. This raises two questions, 1. about notability (if this is being used as part of the basis for the subject being notable, I think there is a problem); and 2. about whether this deserves mention in the article (I'd argue it probably does not). If you click on the online collection at the top page here you will see the photographs by Cohen. His legacy is preserved by this online collection as well as other contents in these collections. Greg Henderson (talk) 05:30, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: per Melcous' comments above. Please find reliable secondary sources before requesting this edit again. Adam Black talkcontribs 20:21, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Edit Request - Add book info written by cohen

edit
  • Under the Career section add the following text and citation after the 1st paragraph:
    • "In 1900, Cohen wrote and illustrated an article titled Diffusion, published in Camera Craft magazine that talked about photographic techniques. An illustration, The Pasture Gate, shows a method for softening images."[1]

Not done: as a primary source and original research, seems like needless fluff to me Adam Black talkcontribs 20:25, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Edit Request - Early life Cohen as trustee

edit

  • Remove "and education" from the section Early life and education, since there is no info on education
  • Add the following text and citations after the 1st paragraph of Early life.
    • "When Alfred Cohen died in 1887, he left his assetts to his wife, Emelie. She appointed her son, Edgar Cohen, as the trustee of the Eugene W. and May Gould mortgages, which included Gould Castle. In 1896, when the notes came due, Cohen was expected to forclose on them. When he failed to, his mother filed a lawsuit to remove him as trustee. Cohen photographed the Gould Castle at Rancho La Cañada in 1898."[1][2][3]

Not done unnecessary excessive detail. As has been explained to you numerous times over the years, encyclopedia articles are a summary of the most important facts and accomplishments of a person's life, or the subject/topic of an article. Not every bit of activity needs to be included. All these edit request on multiple articles are not necessary and waste volunteer time. Netherzone (talk) 01:04, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
