Okay, do you know which of these two dates follow the New Style? I also remember that on Wiki, it mentioned the Union between Moldavia and Wallachia a while after we actually celebrated it. That means that we still follow the Old Style? --Candide, or Optimism 23:29, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

According to Constantin Kiritzescu's "Istoria Războiului pentru reîntregirea României (1916-1919)", Ecaterina Teodoroiu died on September 3, not on September 5, 1917, on Secului Hill, during the Varniţa-Muncelul Battle, not Mărăşeşti Battle. Mentatus 08:24, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

In my opinion the article Capture and escape of Ecaterina Teodoroiu fails to meet the Wikipedia notability criteria as a standalone article for a battle during the Romanian WWI campaign, therefore I suggest merging it into the current article. Mentatus (talk) 20:56, 21 September 2019 (UTC)

• I personally must disagree. I myself have pondered whether to make a stand-alone article, and I made up my mind to do so. I have my reasons, and I'd appreciate if you'd hear me out on this first before taking the final decision. You see, there appears to be an informational lull in the fighting between 17 November and 23 November on the Oltenian front, between the end of the Second Battle of the Jiu Valley and the start of the Battle of Slatina. I decided to go ahead with making this article because it covers that lull in part. The only specifically mentioned action during the last day of the Second Battle of the Jiu Valley that I managed to find is to be found in Ecaterina's biography. Further more, barely any sources bother to mention the fall of Filiasi on 19 November, and none of those who do mention any actual fighting taking place. Ecaterina being wounded by mortar fire near Filiasi is the sole testament I could find that fighting did take place for that town. I'm sure I could find more info if I could speak Romanian, but sadly, I cannot. EDIT: One option to salvage the article would be re-purposing it as the "Battle of Filiasi". Although, it couldn't be more than a start-class. Other than background and aftermath, all we know is that the town fell on 19 November, and that part of Ecaterina's biography is - again - thus far the only testament of actual fighting taking place for this town that I was able to find.   • Well, firstly, according to the source I cited in the Ecaterina Teodoroiu article, she was actually captured during skirmishes on the Rășina-Tunși-Peșteana heights on 3/4 November (it must be Old Style), that is during the late phases of the Second Battle of the Jiu Valley. Therefore Ecaterina Teodoroiu's capture and later escape can be mentioned in the afore-mentioned article. As for her leg injury, it actually happened near Filiași - however it's not clear from the sources whether it happened during a major battle or just minor skirmishes. Secondly, IMHO such events are neither notable nor documented enough to warrant a separate article - would you create a separate one for Ion Dragalina's injury at the Lainici bridge and his subsequent death just to cover the 1st Army's retreat towards Bucharest? And Dragalina was the commander of the 1st Army, not a mere nurse like Teodoroiu, who didn't have any major impact on the outcome of the battles in Oltenia (even if, deservedly, she was eventually elevated to heroine status after the war). To summarize, I think we should keep the biographies of the participants in the war separate from the articles that should cover only the major battles of the Romanian campaign. Therefore my suggestion is to merge the respective article into Teodoroiu's biography since, as I mentioned above, there is no reason to create a separate one for her capture and escape, and since there are no sources (so far) that attest a major battle taking place at Filiași.
