Request a move + Removal of odd translation

While I applaud the creation of this article, the suggested name is not representative of the institution, nor is predominating in English-language sources. I would suggest the original Östgötateatern to be used, just as Östergötland (the noun that the adjective östgöta is construed from) has been left in its original Swedish.

If, however, a translation is needed, I would suggest the use of the older but well established Ostrogothian Theatre. OJH (talk) 23:38, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

• Oppose, but would support Ostrogothian Theatre as mentioned above. We do use English language names for Swedish theatres where suitable, such as Royal Dramatic Theatre, Backa Theatre, and Orion Theatre. And Östgötateatern may be easy for a Scandinavian, but it’s far from easy in English, which is no doubt why these translations exist.   I readily agree that Ö is not everyones favourite letter, and while the use of Oe may be OK for German and possibly Danish, it is rare for Swedish. Ostrogothian is, however, a fair translation/transcribation. OJH (talk) 20:01, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
