Needed? edit

I'm not entirely sure a separate article is warranted in this circumstance. Thoughts? -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 05:33, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lmao the description of Augustus' childhood completely contradicts what was said in the main Augustus article, and I think there's an issue with citing which confuses it. Augustus' stepfather is said to have no interest in him, making his grandmother raise him, in the main Augustus article, whereas in this article, it's said that the stepfather took a keen interest in his stepchildren. I have no knowledge of the subject so I hope this reaches someone who does. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.33.12.111 (talk) 07:17, 29 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sphraeus edit

I've done a lot of reading on this period of the Roman State and I've intimately aquainted myself with Augustus and his life. But in all my time I've never heard of this slave who this article has claimed had a profound impact on him. This claim needs to be either substantiated, or removed. 10:05 PM, 25 March 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.133.229.226 (talk) 02:06, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Octavian, Master of the Horse at 19? edit

The article makes the claim that Octavian was nominated to be Master of the Horse at the age of 19 before Caesar died. This again, is something I've never read. This is a significant claim, because when one reads a history of Octavian one get's the sense that despite some honor's thrown on Octavian by Caesar, that it was total shocker to hear that he had been named as his soul heir by Caesar. If it is true that he was actually nominated by Caesar to be the next Master of the Horse, the implications are significant. Because, in the first place this means that he was not nearly the little man that he is often depicted to be in the article, and else where. He did not merely spring from the ground. This Must be substantiated or eliminated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.133.229.226 (talk) 02:32, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
