Whatever neglible information there is of the author, it indicates that Dr Gopal Singh was a poet and politician and litterateur, his Masters degree being in English and his PhD in Literature, this can further be substantiated by the book's preface [1] under the heading "By the same author" where there is a corpus of poetry and English translations of the Guru Granth Sahib and conversely translations of English works into Punjabi. He does not have training in history nor does he have any serious peer reviewed books to his name.

Macualiffe and other Sikh primary texts like the Gurbilas are obviously unreliable due to their age. This page, like many others in this area, is inundated with self aggrandizing folklore and not actual history. It needs to be rewritten. Cleanup edit

CanadianSingh1469 you still have not cleaned up this article which is heavily inundated with primary and Raj era sources. This entire article and its ancillary battles are clearly vanity projects to push an overly glorified version and fake version of religious history. On top of that you have recieved numerous warnings for this blatant POV pushing from admins and yet you continue with edits like these [2]. At this point, I am very heavily considering going to ANI for persistent POV pushing and WP:COMPETENCE issues. Southasianhistorian8 (talk) 03:14, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I will clean this article when I have time. I have slowed down my edits as of late. Also to address that edit of POV pushing I fixed it. I undid an edit calling him a terrorist not realizing the previous version called him a freedom fighter. CanadianSingh1469 (talk) 06:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
@UnbiasedSN: see these threads here-[3]. We cannot use Raj era sources or primary sources and the article was inundated with them to deliberately inflate the number of casualties that the Sikhs inflicted. This violates WP:POV and constitutes tendentious editing. Southasianhistorian8 (talk) 16:38, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
LOL! "clearly vanity projects" that's your whole editing history. Kettle calling the pot black. The irony in this is hilarious. Get a life. UnbiasedSN (talk) 18:57, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Get a life"- I think this statement is best reserved for those who repeatedly make fake, ridiculous articles inflating the achievements of their co-religionists, knowingly violating Wikipedia's rules solely to project their religion's adherents as some sort of "master race". Who even does that? Southasianhistorian8 (talk) 13:40, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You... You do that... You're slowly getting self aware. Every single one of your edits has to do with religion. Also nice to know it took you about two weeks to come up with a mediocre response but hey, bringing up a "master race" just screams insecurity. Also, race and religion are two different things but a zealot wouldn't know the difference. UnbiasedSN (talk) 03:17, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
