'Northern Irish Flag'

Irish name?

Is there any evidence that he actually uses the Irish language version of his name? If not, it should be removed. Demiurge 13:12, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

If anyone is wondering...Eamonn IS an Irish name. It is also spelled "Eamon" - in both instances, an accented E may be used (Such as in the case of Éamon de Valera) --Τασουλα (talk) 20:44, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Change to Irish

But he is a CATHOLIC from Nothern Ireland they identify as Irish more than British he even states on Sky all the time he is IRISH and when htalks about his country he always refers to Nothern Ireland as Ireland./--♥Yasmina♥ (talk) 11:28, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm from Northern Ireland and i grew up watching Eamonn holmes when he started out on Ulster Television, i have never heard him refer to himself as being "Irish" he has always called himself Northern Irish, and righty so anyone from Northern Ireland is Northern Irish as well as being British, (which on wikipedia people seem to think that is only conferred on you if you are born in England/Scotland/Wales...which is utter rubbish you are British if you are from any of the 4 parts of the UK which like it or not Northern Ireland is part of so hence Eamonn is British . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.218.111.0 (talk) 23:25, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

David Blaine?

Has there been any explanation as to why the American magician behaved like such a cunt when Holmes interviewed him? I remember seeing aclip, he just sits there like he's doped up on thorazine or some other strong anti-psychotic drug. Then eventually Blaine lifts his palm and shows the evil eye. I thought Holmes did rather well because he talked to him in such a couched manner it was like the interviewing of child which had suffered a terrible ordeal! There has never been a real explanation as to why there was any need for such a bizarre performance...and furthermore what did he have to do with Holmes? Had GMTV annoyed him or something???

Guest on various TV shows. Really?

Why is there a list of the various TV shows on which he's appeared as a guest? This is not interesting, noteworthy, or worth of being in Wikipedia. I'd delete this lots out of hand, but imagine a fan or bot would simply undo straight afterwards.

British unless he also owns an Irish passport

First of all, I'm Italian, I was born and bred as a Roman Catholic, I personally don't follow any form of established religion, I'm just trying to be honest and state something equally honest as seen from outside the British Isles. The man was born and bred in Belfast, hence he's Nothern Irish, hence he's British, unless I wake up tomorrow morning and find out Northern Ireland has moved to the "Republic". The only way he could be Irish is by having filed up for an irish citizenship and thus owning an irish passport too. No way he could legally call himself Irish, although he most probably feels as such. Have you ever asked, say, Sir Sean Connery whether he's British or Scottish? He'll probably tell you he feels Scottish at heart, not British and claim for Scottish independence, but he is legally still British, no way out. What about Tom Jones? Would you ever write "Welsh" under his nationality spot??? Come on, be serious and don't bring religion or nationalism into matter... this Irish-British thing up there is so ridiculous and yet so dangerous... 1) Northern Irish people are not necessarily legally British.

2) Recalling your Scottish or Welsh anecdotes are useless in the situation of Irish nationality, as Northern Ireland has a very unique arrangement between two sovereign states.

3) Due to NI's unique situation, we cannot assume Holmes is British or Irish unless there is evidence one way or the other.

4) I suggest removing the Nationality in the infobox unless there is solid evidence one way or the other. It isn't required, and in Northern Irish circumstances it seems to exist only to 'claim' a personality for one side or another.BananaBork (talk) 22:57, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

Conspiracy theorist

While most people would agree that EH is a fat tax dodger, he is not best known as a conspiracy theorist. He simply made some ill judged and irresponsible off-the-cuff comments on daytime TV, for which he is receiving an appropriate bollocking. Nationality

There seems to be a dispute about Eamonn Holme's nationality. I have changed it to say Northern Irish from British-Irish as I believe it's the best for the following reasons.:

• In a NI Connections interview he said "I am a Belfast man first and a Northern Irish Man second"

• In interviews and news reports he is normally described as Northern Irish. Newsletter Interview Belfast Telegraph article Irish News article.

• On his personal Cameo account he describes himself as "I’m Eamonn Holmes OBE, Northern Irish broadcaster & journalist." [1]

Personal life

Can't seem to think of a valid reason on why we should include the content about Holmes getting COVID-19 and being fully jabbed at the time of infection. I assume almost everyone had at least one COVID infection and being jabbed at least once yet I don't see that type of content on other Wikipedia pages.
