Addressing 2020 complaints in the "box" edit

Addressing the "issues" in the box, indeed it is written like a guidebook, and also, quite indeed, it is like a "technical manual," as Ektachrome processing is tricky if someone is referencing this article. As for the "single-source" complaint of the veracity of this article, I referenced Kodak Process manual Z-119 — Kodak invented Ektachrome; and Fuji adopted it in their 100%–compatible Fujichrome film and developer chemistry product lines. When in doubt, "go straight to the horse's mouth."

Source of Formulas edit

The recipes and formulas probably belong elsewhere (not in Wikipedia?) -- Egil 20:35, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yes. But can someone claim copyright on that ? Ericd 21:24, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Not sure if copyright can be claimed, as the formulas are available publicly. The original source should still be cited though. htmlguru4242

Temperature Units edit

The temperatures aren't in proper Celsius SI units, and this makes it very difficult to interpret as my grandparents died about thirty years ago. Ian Tindale 09:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The process specification is actually in F degrees asit was speced out in the USA. Feel free to add the SI equivelents in brackets cmacd 12:49, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moving 3 bath hack to the discussion page? edit

Any comments on moving the three bath Tetenal hack to this page? Discpad 00:23, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Still a work in progress edit

Hang in there: I still need to edit some more, especially the fixer formula, since ammonium thiosulfate is needed for the more vigorous fixing action. Discpad 02:03, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Solutions for the Watkins chrome brew formula edit

I moved the formulas here, because although they will (barely) work, they produce erratic results. Discpad 01:18, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Warning: The ferricyanide bleach in the Watkins recipe .[1] will cause excessive dmin in the film without a clearing bath and may hurt the image. Ektachrome films were designed to go through a Ferric EDTA bleach instead.

Caution: The phenidone-hydroquinone developing agents are Not Recommended, because they cause color crossover, bad grain, poor sharpness, and so on.

Note: A Sodium Thiosulfate fix will not be strong enough for E6 films without using very long fix times - Stick to commercial ammonium thiosulfate fixer, which is both inexpensive and plentiful.

Restoring citations edit

The citations are correct, as they come directly from the Kodak Process E-6 manual and more extensive Q-Lab manual. Someone vandalized the page by removing the citations, then someone else came along and wrote "Gee, there's no citation!" FML

Why there is no negative dye image? edit

Can someone please explain, why in the first step there will be happen no colour coupler to colour dye transformation? As far as I understood, during developing a silver image, the colour couplers will be changed to actual colours. This must be omitted here to prevent developing a negative dye image, doesn't it? -- Pemu (talk) 17:30, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
