This article has a big table in the middle of it, which greatly mystifies me. I'm removing the table.

Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is apparently a term also used somehow in conjunction with the IBM 3270 terminal protocol. Sadly, I know nothing about this other than its existence. Does this warrant disambiguation of this and the Microsoft Windows definition? Thuktun 20:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

This article was disappointing. I remember long ago discovering DDE (though it was already deprecated in favor of OLE) and playing with it and really liking how easy it was to incorporate into an application or use as a tool in itself for desktop automation. Now, I will have to look elsewhere for a quick-start on DDE as this article only goes back and forth between which is better among the supposed successors. I am new to this side of the Wikipedia but hope to be back soon with some more content for this page and others of the WikiProject Computing.

NetDDE on later versions of Windows

The section that reads "However, this will not prevent existing versions of NetDDE from being installed and functioning on later versions of Windows.". I suggest this be removed because there's no reference that explains where this is coming from, and is just an opinion. Kasajian (talk) 16:28, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Here is a link to the source code for NetDDE: https://github.com/chrisoldwood/NetDDE And here's a link to a bunch of tools to test DDE extensively by the code author or NetDDE: http://www.chrisoldwood.com/win32.htm I ran these programs myself and they work under Windows 7 x64 without modification.
