(I speak spanish, sorry if a made a mistake on this text) he have better pictures, for example the picture that i am sharing with us, please change the picture of this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dylan_O'Brien, bless.

Since this new season of Teen Wolf is airing and the number of episodes he will have appeared in by the end of it will have been 80, could that number be changed now? It seems easier than to update it every week (which, as is the current case, leaves it susceptible to be forgotten, and for the number on display to not be correct).

I also wondered about how often the page is updated. With The Scorch Trials having ended its theatrical run, The Death Cure already in pre-production and set to begin filming in March, and Deepwater Horizon in post-production, shouldn't the "Career" section be updated?

Bice24 (talk) 21:53, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Not done: As for the top question, I don't remember where its written, but it is standard to update it as the series goes on, rather than the planned amount of episodes. As for the second, I can't make a change without a reliable source. --allthefoxes (Talk) 07:08, 30 January 2016 (UTC)

Top question: oh, okay! It's on the television section (in his filmography), pertaining to Teen Wolf. It should be updated to 74 if that's the case, since 5B has aired 4 episodes now (a new episode airs every Tuesday).

As for the second question: Deepwater Horizon appears as in post-production in his IMDb page. It was done filming in summer 2015. And The Death Cure, as you can check on the Production List of the Director's Guild of Canada, will film in British Columbia (in Vancouver) starting this March: www.dgc.ca/bc/production_list/Production%20List.pdf They pushed back the dates (it was originally set in February) a few weeks ago, but it's been announced for months. This has been known since November. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bice24 (talkcontribs) 07:40, 30 January 2016 (UTC)

Would need to change the entry of his Personal Life :

The incident was not involving a car, nothing has been confirmed by his Publicist nor FOX... So this should be removed and instead of having it saying that he was hit by a car. The only source that has said the he was hit by a car was Variety and TMZ which multiple Co-Stars of Dylan have said to not believe what TMZ has said and should get the facts straight before saying that he was hit by a car. (They should know they were on-set...)

You should edit this : In March 2016, O'Brien was hit by a car while filming a scene for Maze Runner: The Death Cure; his injuries were substantial but not life-threatening.

In March 2016 O'Brien was injured while filming a scene for Maze Runner: The Death Cure; his injuries were not life-threatening and will make a full recovery.

I really have to say, the people maintaining this page are doing a terrible job. You ignore informed suggestions and ask for sources easily available for everyone - instead of checking the sources you ask for yourselves (as they are being pointed out), you simply ignore it. Same for the episodes - you keep asking for sources when you could see for yourselves that there are 80 episodes of Teen Wolf, and he's been in every single one of them. It was explained that the 78 episodes currently listed are an update failure, because since the page is now protected, the people previously updating that section couldn't do it anymore, and for some reason the people who had access didn't update it as the episodes kept airing. IMDb is not a reliable source, despite what you may think, because it's open to being edited by unofficial sources too. For example, his IMDb indicates that he's been on 81 episodes, because there is one special episode (not an actual episode, just a pre-season premiere episode where the cast is interviewed) that is inexplicably listed among the actual 80 episodes.

Why the insistence on not updating the page, and maintaining incorrect information? I know you'll ignore all these suggestions, so keep at it, I guess.

Anyway, here's a better source for the accident on set: http://deadline.com/2016/03/dylan-obrien-hurt-maze-runner-death-trials-production-stopped-fox-1201722730/

"UPDATE with details of injury: Dylan O’Brien, star of 20th Century Fox’s Maze Runner franchise, was injured on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure today in Vancouver, BC. Fox said he was sent to the hospital immediately but did not offer details. O’Brien apparently fell off the back of a set that was supposed to look like the back of a train and fractured either his cheekbone or orbital socket (still not clear on the details) when he fell on his face. The production has been shut down “while he recovers,” the studio says."

And the official statement from Wes Ball, the director of The Death Cure: https://twitter.com/wesball/status/711280981706051586 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.202.14.90 (talk) 20:33, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Okay, then here is a sourced list of all Teen Wolf episodes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Teen_Wolf_episodes

As you can see, there is a section for "Special Episodes", the first of which is titled "Origins".

Now, going to O'Briens IMDb, as it was suggested as a source (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3729721/?ref_=nv_sr_1), you can see that he's appeared in all of those 80 episodes. However, he's listed in 82 episodes instead of 80. You can see that one of those episodes is "Origins", not an actual episode, but a special episodes that shouldn't be listed there. The other one is an episode referred to as 6.1 - and I hope you'll agree with me that there's no point in updating the section with an episode that hasn't aired yet.

Is that good enough? Can that section be updated to 80 episodes now? If not, please indicate how else should I prove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bice24 (talkcontribs) 09:06, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Done You're correct that IMDb is not a reliable source. This isn't an exceptional claim and the episodes themselves can be a source (similar to plot descriptions), so I've changed the number of episodes to 80. As a side note, if you made ten total edits somewhere on the project, you'd be WP:Autoconfirmed and able to edit this article yourself. ~ RobTalk 15:54, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

film order in filmography table

@Bice24: Regarding your question in your recent edit, because filmopgraphy tables only list the release year (as opposed to the full release date), then you have to order them by year, title, because otherwise how the table is ordered will not be clear to readers (i.e. it would be being sorted by a hidden value, essentially). This is the standard way of presenting filmography tables. —Joeyconnick (talk) 19:22, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

How to handle the accolades table

IJBall switched the column heading "Nominated work" to "Work or artist" based on List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence (on the basis of it being a featured list, although I'm not sure what that table looked like when the article attained that status) but the one table there that has a column that resembles "Work or artist" actually says "Nominated work and artist". I think both are not the right approach: the one here now leaves out the key term "Nominated" and the JLaw article says "and" when obviously, as IJBall wrote it, it should be "or". Also, the JLaw version lists her name for cases where the award is to the actor in general, rather than "Herself"... or "Himself" as we are currently doing here.

I think the best approach would be to revert back to "Nominated work" and either go back to "n/a"—which is accurate because for awards for the actor, the notion of a "nominated work" is "not applicable"—or just leave the cell blank (which I have seen done in other cases). A blank in "nominated work" implies the award pertains simply to the subject of the article and not a particular project, because we are talking about their accolades.

Thoughts? Is there a better way to go or a guideline we can apply? Also pinging Bice24 since he has recently tried to figure out a solution. —Joeyconnick (talk) 00:42, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

I don't think there's a particular guideline on this. All I know is that a "–" or a {{n/a}} in that column, 1) looks terrible, and 2) is inaccurate, as the actor themself is actually the recipient of the award. So, it doesn't matter to me if it's "Himself" or "Dylan O'Brien", but it needs to be something and not "–" or a {{n/a}} there... As for the column heading, I went for the shorter "Work or artist" because I was afraid "Nominated work or artist" would be too long a column heading and would lead to undesirable column width or column heading wrapping repercussions. (Incidentally, plenty of these tables just go with "Work" for the heading of that column, and not "Nominated work".) --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:25, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
I think leaving the cell blank worked too, as the surrounding context is clear enough for everyone to understand the actor is the recipient of the award. That's my preferred option, but I'm not opposed to the current one. My only nitpick with "work or artist" is that I at least think there's a sort of discrepancy between the two — it's a given an individual's page is not going to specify accolades given to someone else (unless they're shared categories), so, as I see it, whereas under "work" there will be a variety of projects, "artist" can only be the same person over and over again, so it seems a bit unnecessary. Aside from that, in this case there's already a few awards shared with someone else, so they should theoretically be specified under "work or artist" now, which would result in undesirable column width, as mentioned (obviously, I'm not advocating for that — I'd rather leave a bit of arguable disconnect in the box rather than mess the format). All in all, I find that variations on "work or artist" fit better for film pages, rather than individuals. But as I said, it's a nitpick, since these kinds of awards are much less common, so I'm fine with that too if it's the consensus, so long as it's "himself" and not the name. It’s ludacrous telling someone to drop it. You all did this with the teen wolf information as well.. just because the information isn’t in the media doesn’t mean it’s not true. But I believe they split up back in April of this year and Britt Robertson has been dated producer Brett Hedblom since June 2018 (source : Britt Robertson’s and Brett Hedblom’s respective instagrams). Also, rumour has it that Dylan would be dating actress Chloe Grace Moretz - of course it’s just rumours but still. I think it is just fair to update his page with these information. Under no circumstances do we report rumours about people's personal lives. If there's no sources, there's no sources, and rumoured info that is not reliably sourced will not be added, as per WP:BLP. —Joeyconnick (talk) 01:40, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

I just gave you sources actually. My last point was optional but my main point remains that they broke up and you can take Britt Robertson’s Instagram as a source. People come to Wikipedia to find reliable content on people, not incorrect one. The fact that you don't acknowledge their current lives is outrageous. PaulineTls31 (talk) 06:12, 29 August 2018 (UTC)

Personal Life

I hate to bring it up again since it looks like such a point of contention on this talk page. But Us Weekly has recently confirmed Dylan and Britt's break up. https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/dylan-obrien-britt-robertson-split-dating-graham-rogers/ Wildandwounded (talk) 22:48, 21 December 2018 (UTC)

Add to Personal Life: "As of 2018, Dylan O'Brien and Britt Robertson are no longer together.[1][2]" Thathelpisnothelpful (talk) 17:04, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Partly done: I have qualified the current text based on the reliable sources that we have. The Daily Mail is not a reliable source, and the US Weekly page doesn't load in my web browser. It would be good to have a better source. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:44, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

please change the Personal Life Section from "O'Brien began dating actress Britt Robertson in 2011 while filming The First Time." to "O'Brien began dating actress Britt Robertson in 2011 while filming The First Time. The pair split at the end of 2018." because according to this source, https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/dylan-obrien-britt-robertson-split-dating-graham-rogers/ and other similar sources, the pair is no longer going concern. Sanchezn123 (talk) 01:13, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

When I try to access that source I get an error message "Access to www.usmagazine.com was denied You don't have authorization to view this page." Can you provide one of the "similar sources" you mentioned please? NiciVampireHeart 22:20, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
Not done for now: per my query above. Please re-open this section when providing additional reliable sources by changing "|answered=yes" to "|answered=no". Thanks, NiciVampireHeart 21:48, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Rearranged

I rearranged his films to be in order in which they came/will be coming out. It was bugging me.

Nonsensical to sort a table on values that are not in the table. Only release year is given, so we sort by year, then title. —Joeyconnick (talk) 10:22, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

Makes more sense to have them in release order to me but whatever.

Can you add upcoming film Flashback? 81.111.224.70 (talk) 20:39, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 20:52, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
