Real Lairdships cannot be purchased. Please do not purchase this so-called lairdship. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.163.127.167 (talk) 01:05, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This website scottishlaird.com is a fraud despite it looking "real". It has taken blogs, pictures, and other things from the real website so you will pay for this so-called lairdship. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.13.131 (talk) 02:51, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Given the above i think it is safer to remove the laird stuff for now but I have left the details about the renovation as that doesn't seem to be an issue.Removed:" aided by the Scottish Laird project<ref>http://scottishlaird.com</ref> and the Dunans Charitable Trust."

Note the July 21 2012 edit removing the info on the legal status of the "fun" titles. Their edit history is pretty narrow. Perchance an owner or someone similarly close? Not terribly surprising if it is.87.114.142.255 (talk) 22:06, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
This is all a scam! The whole article is only there to sell phoney Lairdships to fund Dixon-Spain's building work. Getting other people to pay for his renovations. This is fraud, pure and simple and is against the law in Scotland. If I hear nothing to the contrary I am removing all the rubbish and lies. Kiltpin (talk) 10:32, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
All of you who are so against the titles - just don't buy one! I am happy to contribute to the restoration of the castle. And in my opinion it is much more enjoyable to have a fun title (of course it is not real!) for contributing, than just have someone on the street asking for donations. Just get a life and let live - there is nothing wrong with raising money for the renovations this way. Lutomek (talk) 23:14, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

tallest tree no more edit

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8610636.stm http://forargyll.com/2010/04/ardkinglas-grand-fir-takes-uks-tallest-tree-title/ Perhaps remove section or alter to say it was once the tallest tree? removed for now :

The Stronardron Douglas Fir edit

Also associated with the site is the tallest tree in the UK, the Stronardron Douglas Fir[1]. This tree, standing at 63.79 metres was originally planted by Archibald Fletcher in 1848-9 as part of a stand intended to frame views to and from Dunans Castle.[2][3]

Owners in lede? edit

Seems like self promotion to me. Already in the Info Box. Also promoting own dubious web site selling hereditary titles?2A00:23C6:CE0F:6D01:B822:45EF:F13E:14A1 (talk) 16:23, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
