Parking on a Driveway edit

Any chance we could get a bit of etymology of the word to finally explain why we park on a driveway but drive on a parkway? 204.69.40.7 15:19, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Driveway and parkway both appeared first in the U.S. within few years of each other. I believe the etymology is clear enough, won't you :-) Anyways, we discussed about the term parkway at Talk:List of words having different meanings in British and American English#Please_avoid_using_these_terms_with_different_meanings_in_definitions Feel free to park on your driveway, to drive on your driveway, or to drive on a parkway. But don't even try to park on a parkway... ;-) JackLumber 21:45, 29 April 2006 (UTC) You'll find out that Englishmen park on their "parkways"---nothing to do with what we call "parkway," of course...Reply

Driveway maintenance edit

I'd like to see information (here or elsewhere) on driveway maintenance, such as the coating of asphalt driveways. Unfree (talk) 17:21, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Parking in a non parking spot edit

Took my dad's car out of the patio in front of our apartment and let other person park instead of my dad. PanVilla (talk) 02:57, 26 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
