Reading the current article, I can't help but feel a sense of a lack of information. For example, who is responsible for the issuing of driver's licences? How are they issued? What do the licences look like? How do learners get their licences? What is the minimum age for learners? What does a learner plate look like? Who can legally teach learners to drive? Driving instructors? Or anyone with a full licence? Is there a P-plate (provisional licence) system for newly qualified drivers? I take it, then, that at one point—about 10 years ago, by my reckoning—there was an initiative to amalgamate the details of driver's licenses (AKA licences) in various countries, rather than giving each of them its own page. It fizzled out, though? Too bad—it seems like a great idea, as very little about driver's licenses seems spectacular enough to merit such individual attention, IMHO.
