Removed

edit

Removed the link to Arthur McBride, since that's an anti-recruiting song and has nothing what so ever to do with drinking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.231.125.133 (talk) 10:39, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quality

edit

This is a poor-quality article. Does one specific running group, "hash house harriers," really need to be peppered liberally throughout an encyclopedia article? 58.8.138.156 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:55, 30 March 2012 (UTC).Reply

Minor edit: I changed "among hash harriers" to "by members of the Hash House Harriers" and added an internal link to the Wiki article on same.

General comment: this entry needs a lot of work -- I'll be back!

Requested move

edit

I don't see why the second word should be capitalized as this isn't a proper noun, and it isn't capitalized in the first sentence of the article. Rigadoun 02:52, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

and, Libiamo Ne'lieti calici? isn't it a drinking song? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.230.56.222 (talk) 01:06, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

History/References Added

edit

History of the general drinking song with references added, along with examples of various genres. Could probably use more, but a good start. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.252.143 (talk) 19:26, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not sure what is going on. Entire sections are being removed without reason or comment. Will try to research what was done and restore it when time allows. This will require some time and effort to figure out what was lost. If you are going to edit, please write your rationale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.252.143 (talk) 05:02, 20 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

More should be added/researched on the history...the article says the first song was in the early 11th century, when Anacreon had composed drinking songs centuries earlier in Ancient Greece, and that is just what I know of. All in all, this article needs some serious fleshing out and footnotes to match. Swilliamrex (talk) 16:58, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
