Skylark and Dart?

Why are these listed here? Other than also being developed by Driggs, they have little in common with the monoplane that this article is supposed to be about.NiD.29 (talk) 07:52, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

The DJ-1 and Dart 1 are quite similar and aerofiles says the latter was a "Modified Driggs-Johnson DJ-1". I do agree that the re-engined, sesquiplane Dart 2 and its relative, the Skylark look very different. I may have been over influenced by Driggs Dart which treats the Dart 1 & 2 together. After a quick revisit, I'd happily reduce the list to DJ-1 and Dart 1.TSRL (talk) 20:47, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, that would work I think - Dart I and DJ-1 do appear to be related, however they don't share anything with the Dart II, and even the Skylark seems to share little with the II (and even less with the DJ-1) - the warren truss sesquiplane and widely spaced cockpits of the II do not seem to fit well with having evolved from the I or into the Skylark, more like a designer trying out a bunch of different ideas. I photographed the Dart II when I was at Creve Coeur a few years ago - quite the collection they have there, and the reason I was surprised it would have been included on a page about a single seat (ultralight?) monoplane - I doubt many have heard of it otherwise. I hadn't heard of the DJ-1 before. There wasn't much space for getting decent photos for anything beyond closeup details because everything was packed in the hangars (it was cold out) so probably nothing to upload to the commons though.NiD.29 (talk) 08:26, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
