Anglo-centric

edit

Doestevsky reports drawling in Russian. If you can drawl in Russian with hardly any vowels, ought to be able to drawl in any language!  :) A word exists in French. Haven't checked others, but suspect that it is present there as well. Student7 (talk) 21:36, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Vowel Breaking

edit

Methinks you should be aware of the relation between "Drawl" and "Vowel breaking"! The Wikipedia entry on this topic also has a clear reference to the Southern drawl.--Amand Keultjes (talk) 21:23, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Southern U.S. English" / "Characteristics" section

edit

What on earth is meant by the second bullet point in this section?

Monophthongs, Diphthongs, and Triphthongs: singular, doublet, and triplet vowel sounds in an utterance: "Ha," "Heya," "Greetings!"

Can we delete it? It doesn't make any sense and doesn't seem to be contributing anything to the section as a whole.
