Drawknives are used in metalworking too edit
Just thought I would mention this, because there are metalworking varieties. They generally have differences in hardness and rake angle, but the tools are basically the same otherwise. For example, it was the traditional tool for shaping a katana after differential heat treatment, because common files weren't available in ancient Japan. I'll add some info when I get a chance to gather my sources. Zaereth (talk) 23:14, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
- They're quite different tools though, and they have a different chip formation mechanism. Leon Kapp's book is the obvious source. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:10, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
