City Centre

edit

deleted a reference to the shopping mall which i thought everybody had agreed had nothing to do with this area or article. In any event it made think where are the boundaries for the city centre? i mean where does it actually define what is and what is not in the city centre?Nicole 50dc (talk) 10:34, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"That site is now the location of Drake Circus Shopping Centre, opened in 2006."

edit

No it is not. If you examine the main photograph in the article or google earth or whatever map you care to choose you will find that the roundabout was located where the current traffic lights are located - slightly north of the waste land bordered by the purple fence.Nicole 50dc (talk) 10:40, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

don't forget the The Moneycentre Precinct, 1 Drake Circus, Plymouth [1] which proves that drake circus extends all the way to mayflower street. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.42.59 (talk) 10:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

No, look at this map. It shows that the ward of Drake does not extend beyond Coburg and Charles Street. The Money Centre is within the "Drake Circus" area, but not within Drake (ward), which is what this article is about. Drake Circus Shopping Centre is also excluded from the ward's area.
