Problems edit
I have a few problems with this article:
- Where does the first name "Napoleon" (which I changed from "Napolean" as I assumed that was a typo) come from?
- In New Adventures... there was, I am certain, at least one episode where Zin had a face-to-face encounter with Dr. Quest, if not any of the other characters, contradicting a statement in the text.
- The synopsis here doesn't seem to leave room for it, but the Golden Quest TV-movie was in part a remake of the New... episode "Deadly Junket," with the additional twist that Jessie is lying about being the scientist's daughter, and her dad is really Race!
As for the suggested merger, I think that there is a bit too much here to be a section of the main JQ article. --Tbrittreid (talk) 23:12, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Forget about the merging. It was probably a minor annoyance by some of those reductionists. Dr. Zin not only appear in various JQ incarnations, but he's also widely referenced in other media, at least Venture Bros. and Harvey Birdman. Once a character is referenced in outside works, he is perfectly deserving of an article. He also perpetuates the yellow peril issue, so there's no question. Besides, the amount of info on the character wouldn't fit the JQ article.

I don't think this article should be merged either. "Once a character is referenced in outside works, he is perfectly deserving of an article." -I agree with that somewhat, but certainly in this case. Just in regard to semiotics, the issues surrounding the Dr. Zin character as a symbol in 1960s children's entertainment transcend his simple presence as part of the Jonny Quest universe as a few of you have mentioned. The article may have problems, but it's too rich in information to be merged; it speaks to the culture of the time and informs interested researchers on the social conditions of the time through the prism of television fiction. Who should we petition directly about removing this merging tag?(YuYuNinjaGaiden (talk) 13:49, 8 May 2011 (UTC))
