IUPAC name

edit

the IUPAC name can not be right, there should be a specification of the stereocenters in the cyclohexene ring. 212.117.111.18 (talk) 08:04, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

trade name

edit

Adriamycin is a tradename and hence, should be spelled with a capital 'A'. Doxorubicin should not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kcoldie (talkcontribs)

I believe "Adriamycin" is still used as a genericized trademark in several countries when referring to doxorubicin. Go ahead and capitalize it if you feel it should be. Fvasconcellos 12:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Passed GA

edit

This looks good. Passes all criteria bar a couple of minor typos that it is easier to fix myself :) cheers, Cas Liber | talk | contribs 20:38, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Skeletal formula

edit

I just realized that the skeletal formula I'd added to the article was actually of epirubicin (which is an epimer of doxorubicin). PubChem doesn't make the distinction, and it took me nearly four months to notice :P I've fixed the image, and I apologize. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:10, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, the first (upper) sceletal formula is of doxorubicin now, but the second one is wrong at all. The deficiencies are as follows: a) aromatical and aliphatical rings are shown in the same manner, b) the OH group in the hydroquinone ring is missed (upper), c)the H atom at the aglycone aliphatical cycle is in a wrong position, d) in the sugar moiety, the spacial positions of substituents are not clear. Was it necessary to add this formula to the article? --Nazar Saman (talk) 18:17, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Automatic addition of "class=GA"

edit

A bot has added class=GA to the WikiProject banners on this page, as it's listed as a good article. If you see a mistake, please revert, and leave a note on the bot's talk page. Thanks, BOT Giggabot (talk) 05:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

American Cancer Society Article Heart Problems

edit

I am adding this link as I found it very helpful to me and explains my 4 years of Chronic Fatigue and leg swelling heart palpitations and I have woken up my physicians do to this article from the American Cancer Society. I am now a 22 year survivor post 12 cycles of ABVD alternated with MOPP for Hodgkins Lymphoma (Adriamycin) is the A in ABVD. It is important to get your heart checked regularly even years after the drug therapy.

I have added {{Template:Disputed chem|the hydroquinone OH is missing, the sugar OH has the wrong stereochemistry}} to the image and removed it from the article. Cacycle (talk) 00:01, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

hydrochloride

edit

Would it be useful to mention that doxorubicin is commercially available as hydrochloride salt (CAS 25316-40-9)? I guess this is the only commercially available form. --Nazar Saman (talk) 11:56, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

GA Reassessment

I will do the GA Reassessment of this article as part of the GA Sweeps project. H1nkles (talk) 17:13, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Admittedly this is outside my scope of expertise. That said I read the article with interest and tried to understand some of the more scientific aspects. The article is good, I did add a sentence to the lead to encompass the historical origins of the compound. This was the only item in the article that I could not find in the lead. Per WP:lead the lead should contain a summary of every topic found in the body of the article. The images are good, the content is comprehensive, the references are credible and formatted correctly. At this point I think the article meets the current GA Criteria and as such I will keep it at GA. H1nkles (talk) 17:56, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Producers of Doxirubicin

edit

Before Johnson & Johnson acquired ALZA (in Mountain View, California), Alza was obtaining doxirubicin from a specialty Japanese firm. That firm also produced specialty chocolates for their local and some international markets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.231.135.0 (talk) 16:52, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

New Doxorubicin trial

edit

Hi All

Unfortunately I have no experience with Wikipedia so I'm struggling to add new info about ongoing , very significant trial.

AVA6000 is the first-in-class FAPα activated prodrug based on the pre|CISION platform, providing a prodrug form of doxorubicin with an improved safety profile enabling broader use in oncology, particularly in combinations with immuno-oncology drug agents.

Any chance someone who knows what they are doing could update it ? Thank you 2A02:C7C:E0CE:E800:20EB:A6E3:232E:8C30 (talk) 21:47, 11 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
