Hisa or hisa? edit

Should "Hisa" be capitalized in this article as a proper noun? Fairsing 15:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're right, it looks better capitalized – and I've made the change. --Bruce1ee 08:28, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Am I too tense? edit

I find it rather jarring that one section ("The hisa") is in the present tense and all others in the past. It would be simple to get the rest of the article to agree, but unfortunately not so easy to change just that one section. Comments? Clarityfiend 02:28, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The reason I used present tense here is because this is "current" information about the Hisa, as opposed to a history of them. But you're right, it does interrupt the flow of the article and perhaps it should be switched to past tense. --Bruce1ee 08:44, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Although I'm not quite sure how to change the tense. You can't say "The Hisa were Downbelow's native inhabitants", implying that they are no longer. But you're welcome to have a stab at it. --Bruce1ee 08:49, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not as hard as I thought it would be. Clarityfiend 00:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for doing that. At least the tense is consistent now. --Bruce1ee 06:20, 24 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Good article. But I'm curious - where did you get all this information? Most of it's not in the novels. Clarityfiend 03:43, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the bulk of the info I got from Finity's End – it discusses the Hisa and planet in some detail. The rest I got from Downbelow Station and Ms Cherryh's Alliance/Union chronology on her web site. --Bruce1ee 06:21, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation? edit

Y'all, is the disambiguation really necessary? Bo-Lingua 04:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I put it there for completeness, because it is pointed to from a disambiguation page. But perhaps it's not really necessary as the article title, Downbelow (planet) is self-explanatory. --Bruce1ee 08:04, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're right Bo-Lingua, it is redundant. I've removed it. --Bruce1ee 14:01, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Downbelow (planet)Downbelow (fictional planet) – Same reason as Braal (fictional planet). Title needs to differentiate between fact and fiction. This is not my last name (talk) 12:56, 3 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Support WP:CONCISE is trumped by Wikipedia's duty not to mislead. This is not an actual planet, and it is misleading to title the article as such. There are now ~1800 discovered extrasolar planets; I am sincerely worried the current title might mislead one into believing a genuine planet by this name exists. I do not believe it is appropriate to require the user to click on the link to allay his confusion. Article titles MUST, above all, be factually accurate. Xoloz (talk) 03:56, 9 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
