Talk:Dowlow Halt railway station

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Regnerps

The Halt was opened in 1920, not 1894. It was authorised by way of an agreement between the London & North Western Railway and the Dowlow Lime and Stone Company. Extract from the agreement follows: "AN AGREEMENT made the Twenty third day of January, One thousand nine hundred and twenty BETWEEN The London and North Western Railway Company (hereinafter called “the Company”) of the one part and the Dowlow Lime and Stone Company Limited whose registered Office is situate at Mill Cliff Buxton (hereinafter called “The Traders”) of the other part. WHEREAS the Traders are the owners of certain Works situate at or near Hindlow on the Buxton and Ashbourne Line of the Company’s railway in the County of Derby and have applied to the Company for a halt for the use of their Employees who travel on the Company’s railway" Regnerps (talk) 22:50, 4 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
