The result of the move request was: moved: Douglas Chalmers (British Army officer)Douglas Chalmers and Douglas ChalmersDouglas Chalmers (politician). There is consensus that the British Army officer is the primary topic, although the proposal by two editors to make Douglas Chalmers a disambiguation page is noted. – The army officer is the primary topic ghitspageviews. DrKay (talk) 22:11, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Per WP:ONEOTHER, disambiguation pages are not necessary, or desirable, when there are only two topics and one of them is primary. DrKay (talk) 07:53, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support 1st as the Army officer gets way more views (1,078) than the politician (78)[[1]]. As for the qualifier I'd agree with Roman Spinner that Douglas Chalmers (politician) would be better since there is no indication the Army officer is also a politician but that's not a huge issue. • Support per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC but note there are half a dozen incoming wikilinks that will need updating. Also agree with above comments that Douglas Chalmers (politician) is sufficient, per WP:CONCISE. - Station1 (talk) 18:07, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support alternate proposals Douglas Chalmers → Douglas Chalmers (politician), and creation of DAB at Douglas Chalmers. The evidence that there is a primary topic is very shaky, but there are no other politicians so the more concise disambiguator is preferred. But obviously then oppose move of the article on the officer to the base name. Support move of that article to Douglas Chalmers (general) as I note he has served with US forces while still a British officer, and that's quite precise enough as well. • Support, but use Douglas Chalmers (politician). Incidentally, "British Army officer" is the standard disambiguator for all British Army officers and has been for years. It's used on hundreds of articles. No good reason to start changing things which work perfectly well now. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:39, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support and agree regarding Douglas Chalmers (politician). Dormskirk (talk) 12:22, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
