Talk:Doppelgangers (How I Met Your Mother)

Please revert the deletion of The Wedding Bride (How I Met Your Mother). It is an upcoming episode of the television series How I Met Your Mother and due to air in less than three weeks. Advanced press releases and publicity for the episode have been released. IMDB and TV.com already exist. If there are issues with the article that need to be improved please say so but it is very difficult to improve a deleted page. The page was deleted so quickly there was little chance to grab a copy of the page. The page will inevitably be recreated in the next few weeks when the episode airs if not sooner. If we must wait so be it but please indicate where I can get a copy of the former version of the page to work on in my sandbox. Barney is actually driving...

Maybe we should add this fact in the continuity section. It was previously shown in season 2 episode 17 that Barney did not know how to drive or at least did not learn to drive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.176.23.140 (talk) 09:10, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

That was my thought too. But Barney could be seen driving in a couple of episodes since "Arrivederci, Fiero" (I'm sure the fact is included in each of these episode's Continuity section). Absolutely atrocious!

Every single article of a HIMYM episode must be deleted! It completely goes against Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and is full of useless trivia such as the "continuity" section that goes against wikipedia's trivia rules. That is ridiculous. The episodes are relevant enough that they warrant articles, as shown by how many users contribute to them and the popularity of the show. If you don't like the way the continuity sections are run, discuss and change them as appropriate. What's atrocius is how deletionsist Wikipedia has become recently. Barney and driving

Yes, Barney is shown driving and, yes, he was previously said to be afraid of driving, but his overcoming that and learning to drive is well documented on other episode pages for previous episodes, specifically As Fast as She Can. Does his past fear of driving need to be mentioned in every episode now where he is shown to be driving? You are wrong. This trait did NOT change in this episode. As I pointed out in the edit summaries previously (please check and see), this change has been known since the season 4 episode As Fast as She Can, and there already is a mention of it in the continuity section there (again, please check and see that, too). Smoking in continuity

To mention events of other episodes involving smoking is not a continuity point for this particular episode because no character at any point smokes or mentions smoking. You have ignored the fact that there is NO mention of smoking in the episode nor does ANY character smoke in it. Something cannot be a point of continuity for this episode if it is entirely absent from the episode. If you wanted to add something to the Last Cigarette Ever page (like adding right after the sentence "Lily quits the day she decides to try to get pregnant" a parenthetical like "(which she does in the episode Doppelgangers)" then that would make sense, since in that episode reference is made to the day she decides to get pregnant). Lily "quoting"?

When Lily tells Marshal to put a baby in her she is using a line that she used in a previous episode, but how is that continuity? This explanation does not make sense. what does "consistent with the language that the characters have" mean? Pretty much everything the characters say in every episode is "consistent" with the language they use.
