Image upload question
editHi there. I have just originated this page and notice someone is already editing it, which is great.
I want to upload a formal photo of the subject which comes from a family archive, but presumably was originally RAF copyright. Two questions:
+ would uploading it contravene Wikipedia's rules? + if not, how do I upload?
Thanks Hope2cu (talk) 04:22, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Check out the page at Wikipedia:Copyrights#Guidelines_for_images_and_other_media_files for information on Wikipedia's image copyright policy. Also check out WP:NFCI. I'm not an expert on these policies, but from reading them myself, it sounds like the image probably isn't suitable for Wikipedia unless you own the copyright and are willing to license it under one of Wikipedia's licenses. You can ask here to get in touch with some people who are knowledgeable about these questions. — ækTalk 04:36, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
