What about length of the bridge? I found 4,5 km there [1], but 3,7 km there [2]. What number can be correct? --Jklamo 01:08, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The longer distance mentioned is the distance between the river banks, from Mutarara to Villa de Senna. This is spanned by two bridges. The longer, larger bridge, 3.67km and the shorter, smaller bridge (about 0.8km) together they cover 4.5km. During the time the bridge was used by vehicles the access was between the two bridges with vehicles only using the large bridge. Edgar Cardoso was born in 1913 and could not be engineer of this bridge because he was only 18 years old in 1931.Joao Pires da Fonseca (talk) 12:09, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Well spotted: Cardoso did design the nearby Samora Machel Bridge (built 1968–1972), but it's extremely unlikely that he could have been the main designer of a major infrastructure project at that age, years before he even graduated as a civil engineer. I've removed the unsourced assertion from the article; if anyone would like to put it back in, please cite an ironclad source. Hqb (talk) 16:42, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
