Great work. I've passed this article. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 23:17, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. — Oz (talk) 04:36, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Source spotcheck: Various references were checked at random.

  • Musicnotes.com should not be used for instrumentation information. When Musicnotes.com is cited, we are referring only to the sheet music itself, not the online description of the song offered by it. For instrumentation, qualified reviewers, journalists, scholars, etc. are used.

  • This statement is not exactly supported by its accompanied citation: "Brown uses auto-tune on some of his vocals in the song."
    Replaced citation. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Citations after a sentence should always be given in numerical order.

  • What makes PopCrush a reliable source? I looked up rent Fitzgerald, as well as staff information on PopCrush, and didn't find anything promising.
I thought PopCrush was. Anyways I removed it from the 'Composition' section. Can PopCrush still be used for reviews? — Oz (talk) 21:34, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    I'll let this pass since we're not using it for specific information. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 23:17, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref 26 does not seem to say anything about "Don't Wake Me Up"'s certification.
It does. See the silver platinum tag on the single cover. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    I'm not quite sure how I missed that... —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 01:03, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Certifications denote shipment figures, not sales figures.
The Australia/New Zealand certifications are based on sales not shipments. The song was only released digitally in those countries. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • "The video premiered online on June 11, 2012." – the given citation does not say anything about when the video was released.
    The URL does. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
That could be acceptable if the source said something like "It came out today/yesterday", but nothing is told. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 01:03, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    Replaced citation. — Oz (talk) 06:13, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    The link seems to go to the wrong page. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 21:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
I added the wrong link lol. Fixed. — Oz (talk) 21:42, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • For brief plot summaries, we don't need references, so you should remove them as they are redundant.

  • "On June 8, 2012, Brown performed 'Don't Wake Me Up' on Today as part of its Summer Concert Series, for which he wore a New York Yankees cap, a multicolored Snow Beach Polo jacket, black jeans and white sneakers" &ndashl the clothing description is unsourced and probably not that important.
Source does say he wore the cap and jacket and the source has videos of Brown wearing the jeans and sneakers. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    There's info about the Polo jacket, but nothing else I noticed. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 21:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Read "The R&B crooner, rocking a NY Yankees fitted cap and a throwback, multicolored Snow Beach Polo jacket"Oz (talk) 21:42, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • "At the 2012 BET Awards ceremony on July 1, 2012, Brown performed a medley of 'Don't Wake Me Up' and 'Turn Up the Music', for which he appeared shirtless with half his body painted gray." – source does not say that it was a medley, not does it say anything about him being shirtless and painted grey. Also keep in mind that we're talking about the song, and information about what Brown is wearing is not that relevant or useful.
Source does say he was shirtless and painted grey. And Beyonce/Lady Gaga/Rihanna GA articles mention clothing descriptions. — Oz (talk) 00:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
    Where does the source say this? —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 21:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Read "The R&B crooner served up his stellar vocals along with eye-catching acrobatic moves, all while being shirtless. With half his body painted in grey,"Oz (talk) 21:42, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Prose: I did copy editing, but have two concerns.

  • "were posted online the following day.[47] The video premiered online on June 11, 2012." &nsash; repetitive wording ("online...online")
  • Plot summaries should merely describe the plot (i.e. the sequence of events). What Chris Brown wears in each scene is not necessary.

Manual of style

  • Per MOS:LEAD, 10 KB, the article's prose size, is not sufficient for three paragraphs in the lead. I suggest trimming the lead down to two paragraphs.

Stability and neutrality: nothing particularly stands out.

Final assessment: Passed.
