Format

I haven't seen this show (and I don't think I want to), but a brief description of the format, including exactly what "scaring the hare" means, would be helpful. Hengist Pod (talk) 16:55, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

I watched half of the first episode, didn't understand it and decided not to watch it again. So although I agree with you, I cannot personally help. –anemoneprojectors– 20:37, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

I can give it a go, but it's kind of difficult to explain. Basically two teams of three contestants compete in a series of rounds in which they must complete bizarre tasks. A wrong move usually sets off a loud noise, such as an explosion, thus "frightening" the robotic hare which then runs manically round the studio for about 30 seconds before coming to a halt. Three of these "scares" means you lose the round. The winning team must then answer a series of questions in a final round to win the £15,000, with the same "Don't Scare the Hare" rule applying. Whenever someone does scare the Hare, the audience shouts out "Don't Scare The Hare!" I must say that although it's one of the naffest programmes I've ever watched, it has a certain appeal to it, and it's grown on me over the last few weeks. On or off-air?

I know its axing was announced a couple of weeks ago, but has the series bnow been pulled from the schedule? TheRetroGuy (talk) 21:41, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware, its axing still has NOT been officially announced. There was a story going round that it had, but in fact someone in the BBC had merely admitted the show had underperformed. It does seem to have been dropped from Saturday nights though. I expect the remaining episodes will turn up in some unwatched dumping zone sometime - like between the EastEnders omnibus and Songs Of Praise. - Q4 (talk) 16:15, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Third opinion

Someone keeps adding that the series is "canceled" (sic), both to the text and the infobox. Thing is, the text already states this (albeit phrased differently) and I've yet to see the parameter added to the infobox. I've reverted this a couple of times today and a couple on previous occasions, so in order to avoid an edit war, I'm requesting a third opinion on this. The prose says that the show was "axed", both in the lead and the Reception section. It might be beneficial to change this wording to read simply "cancelled", and to stick {{British English}} on this page ("canceled" is the American spelling). If the show has indeed ended, you might want to set the status parameter to "Ended" in the infobox; articles for other BBC shows do this (e.g., Keeping Up Appearances, Blackadder). However, there doesn't seem to be community consensus over the exact wording, and the parameter itself may very well be removed shortly. --Gyrobo (talk) 14:47, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

They went out on, though I seem to remember they were aired mid-afternoon rather than in the original teatime slot. Sadly I didn't see them so couldn't say what tasks the contestants had to perform. Paul MacDermott (talk) 23:42, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
