International song of the year edit

I'm trying to find the proof, because as I recall, I was watching a show around 1987 that was international in nature, where Peter Gabriel won an award for record or song of the year (Don't Give Up). They should most of the video, which happened to be the first time I saw it, so I remember that very well. He walked up the steps, accepted the reward, and said a few words. Does anyone else know of this reward? Jimcripps 04:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Shannon Noll and Natalie Bassingthwaighte version edit

Shouldn't that article, Don't Give Up (Shannon Noll and Natalie Bassingthwaighte song), be merged with this article, since it is a cover version, and transfer info to this article? RaNdOm26 13:07, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Big gap edit

I added that the song was performed on Dancing With The Stars and wrote a quick sentence regarding the video. However, there's a big gap between the heading and the paragraph. Can someone please fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sound of white (talkcontribs) 11:22, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:88697049352.jpg edit

Image:88697049352.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Plenty 'o' trivia but lacking essential facts edit

I find it ironic this article lists every single person who ever covered the song and every conceivable display of any of those versions - but doesn't say who wrote the song nor has the names of any of the musicians who played on the original recording.70.131.101.242 (talk) 18:53, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speaking of which, why is Kate Bush included in the title? She didn't write the song, she simply sang on the track. Since when is a backup singer given co-whatever status?
Look at the article on the album So. She's only listed once, under "vocal on track 3." How does she get top billing?Nickrz (talk) 19:07, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Taken from the So article for this song:
Manu Katché – drums and percussion
Richard Tee – piano
Simon Clark – synthesizer
Kate Bush – vocals

Muhammad Ali edit

The opening verse of the song also pays tribute to Muhammad Ali. A legend who changed the sport of boxing. Today, he's silent but the man, the mouth and his legend lives on.

Use in TV commercials? edit

I vaguely remember but wasn't this song used in a TV commercial that showed a girl that looked like she was about to give up on herself, and the lyrics "when times get rough, you can fall back on us, don't give up, please don't give up" played in the background. Does anyone remember this commercial? LReyome254 (talk) 19:22, 30 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
