Talk:Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

This article is clearly not objective and doesn't stick to the topic of the page. It tries to imply that all African American movies that are cautionary tales of blacks in the "hood" are merely a mask for white racism. THese movies generally are written, directed, acted and watched primarily by blacks. What does this opinion have to do with the actual movie??

Agreed. The paragraph is very NPOV and ignores the fact that this movie is primarily a send-up of films by John Singleton and Spike Lee. Fan 18:51, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

it is long

Funny edit

Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood is an outragously funny movie. It lightens up the whole depression of Urban life; their is'nt only death and grief in the hood (we have fun too).

For instance when Dave the Crackhead asks Loc Dog for directions and says "I'll suck your dick man", that shit is funny.

Ashtray's father edit

I changed "actor younger than Wayans" to "actor one year older than Wayans" because Lahmard Tate was born in 1970 and Shawn Wayans was born in 1971. The last time I checked, 1970 came BEFORE 1971. How did a one year old get lucky with Vivica Fox? : | 64.241.230.3 15:39, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Dontbeamenace.jpg edit

Image:Dontbeamenace.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Changed name of actor and actor's character's name edit

I made changes to the entry for the actor and name of actor's character. The entry for David Alan Grier as Ashtray's cellmate Farrakhandi was inaccurate. The actual actor was comedian AJ Jamal; the character's actual name is Farrakhanvict. David Alan Grier had no role in the movie.

Merge soundtrack? edit

{{rfc}} Per WP:GNG, notability of this film's soundtrack may not guarantee a strong stand-alone article. Even with album charts and singles, I don't think expanding that article would make it stronger, as singles are independent themselves. Extended time for more discussion. --George Ho (talk) 20:37, 24 February 2013 (UTC) --George Ho (talk) 03:52, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support merger. The album is notable in its own right, but it's not much more than an infobox and track listing, so I think that readers are better served by integrating it into the film article. If someone wants to make the case against merging, though, I'm open-minded. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 02:37, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support merge, agreed, seems sensible and logical. — Cirt (talk) 03:33, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment - Soundtrack article is here. --Noleander (talk) 17:01, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support merge - Because (a) soundtrack article is small - not many independent sources commenting on it; and (b) adding it to the movie article would not adversely affect the movie article. --Noleander (talk) 17:02, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
