Eris rulership

edit

Eris is bigger than Pluto, it can be considered a new ruler planet, which sign could belongs to it?? If Eris is goddess of chaos and discord, i think its sign is Aries or Scorpio, but they have already a ruler planet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.92.2.121 (talk) 04:21, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

MPC136199, nicknamed by astronomers as "Eris", rules Taurus. GrzegorzWu (talk) 11:08, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

that is called co-dominant. --1c33y37 (talk) 09:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I disagree that enough has been written about the cycles of Eris to assign it a zodiacal ruler ship. The suggestion that its size should factor in ruler ship unfortunately conflates the same scientific reasoning that demoted Pluto to dwarf-planet status and which does not reflect the reasoning and application of an astrology community but instead the astronomy community. Science is indeed useful for organizing the material aspects of astronomical bodies, but it does not consider the practices and applications of the spiritual communities that rely on the ancient knowledge which astrology consists.

For that matter, I've heard it suggested that the Eris's ruler ship should be assigned Virgo, which seems the exact opposite of the proposed associations that have already applied to the object. Rather than offering self-research here, perhaps the better action is to recommend for the references section (which I might add is woefully empty) articles and other writings that are better at presenting a more complete reasoning for creating modern ruler ships. I have mostly read only very speculative articles, which point out the difficulty of accurately establishing a new symbolic tradition.Volpane (talk) 19:30, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Missing paragraph added

edit

Prior to the article edit that I've just made, the second (now third) paragraph of the introductory section of this article began with the word "Conversely", without there being any content in the first (still first) paragraph to which the word "conversely" logically might apply.

Researching this article's history, I learned than on 12:28, 15 April 2006 user ElectricEye had merged into this article content from the now-extinct Wikipedia article entitled "Ruling planet". See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Domicile_%28astrology%29&diff=48559317&oldid=48529326 .

Via https://archive.org/ I located the most recent available archive of the historic "Ruling planet" Wikipedia article. See https://web.archive.org/web/20060207023439/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruling_planet .

In his act of merging, user ElectricEye clearly failed appropriately to include the paragraph from the "Ruling planet" article that immediately preceded the paragraph that begins with "Conversely".

Therefore I have inserted said immediately preceding paragraph, intact, into this article.
