Sources edit

The sourcing in the introduction does not match other wikipedia articles. It looks like sourcing from a term paper assignment. The sources seem to refer to the additional reading section instead of to the references section.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.62.93.205 (talk) 21:11, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the other editor's assessment. I will make the edit. Geraldshields11 (talk) 18:49, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Founder(s) Wikipedia Articles edit

Are there Wikipedia pages for Stefano Gabbana & Domenico Dolce ? , I see redirects but I don't see the Wiki articles. I think there should be Pages for the 2 if there aren't any.Bobbyshabangu talk 11:52, 3 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree. It's bizarre and unacceptable that Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce both redirect to Dolce & Gabbana. This is akin to Bill Gates redirecting to Microsoft. The firm Dolce & Gabbana is a legal entity quite separate from the two living persons behind it, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce. There is a need for separate Wikipedia articles for each of Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce. 58.165.214.83 (talk) 05:54, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Came here to ask the same thing! Maybe it's just that nobody has bothered to make the articles yet? МандичкаYO 😜 03:39, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Bobbyshabangu: FYI I just made the first page for Stefano Gabbana. It's just a stub as of now. I'll make one for Dolce also. Would appreciate if anyone on here can contribute. МандичкаYO 😜 04:25, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Bobbyshabangu: I finally made a page for Domenico Dolce - I did the one for Stefano Gabbana but forgot about Dolce. Anyway, I think some of the content on this page (gay adoption controversy, film appearances etc) should be merged off this page and into their profiles. It's really more about them personally and not about the company. I don't want to remove whole sections since this is a high-profile article. I will put up an official "merge" request template. Split edit

Now that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have their own articles, I would like to move some of the sections from this article; eg their appearances in film, personal life, some of the gay adoption controversy (except for the boycott part it should be primarily in their own articles), tax evasion, etc be transferred to their articles. This info is already in their articles but now it's duplicated. Since this is a high importance article and I have not contributed to it, I'd like to ask some help from other editors in transferring this information. Also I did both articles and a lot of it (eg the early history of the company) is exactly the same. It's hard for me to rewrite it in a different way so they're are noticeably different. If anyone can help with that (especially people who know about fashion) I'd appreciate it. Thanks! МандичкаYO 😜 03:29, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wikimandia This article should probably be about the fashion house and company, and say almost nothing about the founders except link to their articles. Perhaps move everything that is not business related out of this article and into those biographies. The company is a distinct entity. Blue Rasberry (talk) 00:50, 17 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Looking more this is difficult and I am not familiar with the topic. There is a fashion house, a company, Dolce, Gabbana, and the collaboration of Dolce and Gabbana. It is hard to determine where these things begin and end.
I expect that separating the business might be the best first step, by starting at is founding and then covering the business' assets, brands, and legal issues. Once that is separated then maybe all of the personal collaborations of Dolce and Gabbana can go into an article on the fashion house, since their partnership is kind of a brand but not part of the business. Then from there, what information exists about the individuals can go into their own biographies. Or maybe not! Maybe there should be an article on the company, then another on the fashion house, with the fashion house talking about the personal lives of the two. • No, splitting would be ridiculous. This is about a fashion house, not a pair of people. Jeremy112233 (Lettuce-jibber-jabber?) 12:32, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Potential Expansion on Advertisements edit

Hello! I am writing to let everyone know I am planning on expanding the controversy topic. I would like to talk more about the company's controversial advertisements and the effect it has had. I will be expanding on this topic for a class assignment. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions let me know!! Slacassagne (talk) 19:18, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
