Proposed merge with Docking theory of olfaction

Article was created on 6 Jan 2019 with edit summary "Help is kindly requested to redirect the current Wikipedia page "Shape theory of olfaction" to a renamed page "Docking theory of olfaction. Two recent reviews (references 1 and 2) as well multiple colleagues agree that the new title is more accurate. While I am an experienced Wikipedia editor I do not know how to replace the earlier page with a new one. Once the replacement has been made appropriate changes will then be made throughout the article for consistency with the new title." Draft was then mistakenly (in my opinion) moved to mainspace at this new title.

Correct procedure would have been to add any new content to the existing article and then move it to the new title, retaining the contributions and acknowledgement of the many editors who have worked on the existing article since 2005.

I initially thought of proposing this new article for speedy deletion A10 as "a recently created article with no relevant page history that does not expand upon, detail, or improve information within the existing article(s) on the subject," but I am no expert in the area and have not scrutinised every word of the new article, am willing to believe that it probably contains something worth merging into the old article, perhaps new sources which support the new term for the theory and thus support a future WP:RM requested move to move the full article to this newer title. Right: the new article was moved back to draft, the new content has now been merged in to this article, and this article has now been moved to the desired title. We got there eventually, by a roundabout route. Thanks to all involved for their collaboration in getting this sorted out. PamD 20:46, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
