Translation of the farm name

edit

Is it common in English to translate a place (farm) name such as Myrká into something like "Dark River"? I'm surprised. We don't translate Reykjavík into "Smoke Bay" either (except in a etymology section), do we? I'd just call him the "Deacon of Myrká". --Neitram (talk) 14:24, 11 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

The meaning of the name is central to the story and its character. It was quite obviously connected to this farm because of the imagery it evokes. So here it should be translated.--Óli Gneisti (talk) 15:43, 24 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
