This article, for some reason, survived a spate of deletions. This is part of a broad tree of leagues in Louisiana under the LHSAA and ultimately across every state in the United States under NFHS. The controversy is that there is a faction of powerful wikipedia editors, some apparently with administrative tools, who have an orchestrated campaign, an WP:AGENDA to delete this kind of content. Its currently an orphan because they also deleted articles that link to this from other directions. The grounds they wish to use is there is no coverage. Unfortunately for them, this is one of the most covered concepts in american journalism. We are talking about sports. The sports section is a mainstay of virtually any general interest newspaper. The prep leagues, where prep sports are played are part of that coverage everywhere. We do run afoul of the word "routine" in notability guidelines. The articles linked here are not "routine" agate, they are not a passing mention. They are routine in the sense that a newspaper in this area would be out of business if it were not routine to cover this subject in depth. A newspaper would also be out of business if they were to not cover, say, the President of the United States. That coverage would also be "routine" as a necessary function of covering news. You wouldn't therefore delete the article of the President because it was routine. I've included sources from The Advocate (Louisiana), The Times-Picayune and the The Clarion-Ledger, all notable sources. This is just recent stuff from the top of google, there is tons more where this came from. I am leaving this as a stub article because I personally have no involvement with this coverage and am not qualified to isolate what is important to this subject. What I have established is the fact that there is significant coverage for this and every other article like it. My message to the deletionists and administrators who support them. Stop deleting this content; here or anywhere else. This kind of coverage exists for every league on this level in the United States. To ignore it, you are not doing your due diligence to recognize this fact. In short, you are just making trouble in order to be abrasive. When the article exists without threat of deletion, people who know the subject will expand upon the available content and will fill in the blanks as in New Orleans Catholic League, which is the same thing as District 9 under the same umbrella. It takes more knowledge about the subject on the part of the editor to do this work. I have however, demonstrated the potential for that expansion. With today's edit, initiated by an IP, it shows the potential is real. There are members of the community who know more information to post. Its a process wikipedia will benefit from. Trackinfo (talk) 21:16, 24 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
