I found a djvu of the original Latin and a French translation online. Can this be uploaded somewhere convenient for Wikipedia? I suppose the French translation is still copyrighted, but certainly the Latin isn't? Swap (talk) 18:39, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Was this 8th section included in later editions of Disquisitiones Arithmeticae? If not, perhaps someone knows the title and if any translations from Latin into other languages are available? Thanks,Rich (talk) 22:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Bad translation edit
The translation of "Quod, in pluribus quaestionibus difficilibus...oportebat." is not only unsourced but also wildly inaccurate.
Clarke's translation (as revised by Waterhouse; Springer 1986) has "In several difficult discussions, I have used synthetic proofs and have suppressed the analysis which led to the results. This was necessitated by brevity, a consideration that had to be consulted as much as possible."
