Huntley criticisms edit

As far as I can tell the criticisms of criminal record checking in 2003 were not directed towards the Criminal Records Bureau [1]. Ian Huntley's employment as a school caretaker was in 2001 [2], before the CRB was launched. January (talk) 16:55, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

External links modified edit

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Disclosure and Barring Service. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Unclear edit

  • What constitutes a "regulated activity"? I assume the sales of alcoholic beverages is regulated by law and requires a licence; is this a regulated activity?
  • What are "exempted questions"? Exempted from what? Paying taxes? Military service?
  • Who or what determines whether an organisation is entitled to ask such questions?
  • What is an Umbrella Body and what does it do, other than (hopefully) accepting registrations and countersigning applications?

I can make some guesses, but these guesses can easily be off. The article ought to be more clear.  --Lambiam 16:50, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it's the job of Wikipedia to define the rules relating to DBS checks. Information on this topic should only be taken from the DBS itself. 51.194.85.80 (talk) 17:56, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
