New Book/This American Life Update

Margret has just published a book on Bobby Dunbar called A Case for Solomon: Bobby Dunbar and the Kidnapping That Haunted a Nation. This American Life broadcast an updated version of the story that states that the Dunbar family has come to terms with the results of Margret's investigation and the DNA results and has reconciled. Thats a nonsensical post....The Bobby Dunbar case was a sensation in its time (yeah, a long time ago - but still...), not unlike all the missing kids due to Georgia Tann. Its a sort of To Kill A Mockingbird type story. It also has historical/legal implications....glad to see it posted on Wikipedia. Engr105th (talk) 08:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Dna Results

Has anyone checked that the son of Alonzo Dunbar is in fact a blood relative of the Dunbar family? If not the DNA result doesnt mean much if only he and Bob Dunbar Jr were tested in 2004. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.17.89 (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

I agree that the claim seems rather unfounded. Yes they proved that the 2 family members don't share the same lineage, but they also don't proof that the boy was the Anderson boy. By any means the boy could have been a 3rd missing child. Cbetta (talk) 16:49, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

The other boy on the wagon

The timeline section has an entry about Bobby Dunbar recalling "the other boy on the wagon." What does this mean? There's no other reference to a wagon in the rest of the article, and there's no citation for this entry in which to find out what that means. Onlynone (talk) 15:52, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

From what I remember from the This American Life feature, there was a random other rumour that Walters had been seen travelling with 2 boys and that Bobby Dunbar had indeed been the other boy that somehow had gotten "lost". Lack of online archival evidence of the national scope of this story

While This American Life and the book on the subject are enough IMHO to establish notability, it is curious that my internet search of various sources of newspaper archives doesn't seem to confirm that this story really was as national a story as those two 21st century references make clear. Perhaps someone else can track down one or two early 20th century sources that illustrate the coverage. Should this be renamed?

Photography of Julia Anderson and son

The article states that Julia Anderson was a field worker and had no financial means for battling in court. The supposed picture of her and her son looks relatively well off, she wears a very fine dress and having your picture done was not cheap either. The source of the picture also says, the image depicts: "Bobby (Bruce) with Lessie Dunbar taken after he was brought to Opelousas from Mississippi in 1913."
