Talk:Diplomatic history of Australia

It would be interesting to introduce some of the historical debate about just how much Australia turned away from the United Kingdom towards the United States during the Second World War; in particular during the ascent of the Curtin government. Historiography is far from unanimous in arguing that the rise of a special relationship between Australia and the United States was at the detriment of the Commonwealth relationship. In particular some notice should be paid to previous advances made towards America by Lyons, Menzies and R.G Casey, as well as the debate over how much Australian-American relations actually improved during the war. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.245.29.176 (talk) 20:00, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
