Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because Dipendranath Bandopadhyay is a notable author in the field of Bengali Literature. He has also been a social worker in West Bengal as the article suggests. The first page created in this effort was mistakenly titled as "Dipendranath" instead of "Dipendranath Bandopadhyay", and was deleted after a few days since its creation. The concerns with notability were raised with the past article as well, and have been argued against by the author of this article. This article seems to have been moved from the earlier page in order to change the title, and it inherited the deletion request from the last page. However, this article has been improved since its last existence, and now carries external links that can be used to check the notability of the subject of the article. I request the administrators to further discuss in this thread before deleting the article right away. Thanks! --Sucheta Ghoshal (talk) 04:47, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

In regards to this, @KDS4444 and Shawn in Montreal: It appears that the article itself was moved and then the redirect deleted, so the AfD closure at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dipendranath is not proper (as it should follow the content and not the title). If you could either reopen (Shawn) or renominate at the new title (KDS), that would be much appreciated. ansh666 09:39, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Done. KDS4444 (talk) 15:30, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks so much for your consideration. The deletion tag, however, is still showing up on the article. Is that something that I could help fix? I have linked the Bengali Wikipedia article on the subject for reference. Hope it helps! --Sucheta Ghoshal (talk) 19:11, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is not exactly a translation of দীপেন্দ্রনাথ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় but written separately. subhamay16:38:48 Tuesday, 28 March 2017(UTC)
