Microsoft edit

The sub-section on Microsoft states that the company may only face obligations regarding uninstalling of software. However, there are other examples of cases where they might need to act. For example, if one searches 'firefox' on Bing, as of December 2021 an ad promoting Microsoft Edge appears as the first result stating that 'There's no need to install other browsers'. Displaying this as the first result regardless of actual page ranking seems to fall under Article 6 section d: '[a gatekeeper shall] refrain from treating more favourably in ranking services and products offered by the gatekeeper itself or by any third party belonging to the same undertaking compared to similar services or products of third party and apply fair and non-discriminatory conditions to such ranking'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.213.131.229 (talk) 13:50, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

The EU doesn't do "Acts". That term is only used for the legislative instruments of (some) member state governments. EU law is in the form of Directives and Regulations. This is a proposed regulation. Hairy Dude (talk) 14:09, 3 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Nevertheless both the Council and Parliament have taken to calling it the Digital Markets Act per the Commission, and so has everyone else, so WP:COMMONNAME is fitting. The text itself, after referring to the "the draft legislative act", indeed goes on to adopt "this regulation" and there's nary a mention of any Digital Markets Act.
