Per my edit summary: Miletich lists the population in 1912 as 800 Greek, 600 Turkish and 400 Bulgarian families. (pp. 132–133). I don't think anybody can question the fact that Didymoteicho was part of the Ottoman Empire or Bulgaria, so no reason to provide references for that just to back the names up. • Books Ngram Viewer is not almighty, but very helpful.

According to Books Ngram Viewer, 1. Didymoteichon > 2. Dimetoka > 3. Dimotika > 4. Didymoteicho...... (probably these results include historical usages)

According to GeoNames Search

Didymóteichon (Approved), Dhidhimótikhon (Variant), Didymóteicho (Variant), Didymoteíchou (Variant), Didymóteikhon (Variant), Didymotichon (Variant), Dimotika (Variant)
