Nightmare on Elm street 2

edit

I always associated this song with the second Freedy Kruger movie. I'm surprised it's not mentioned at all. (24.33.81.180 (talk) 07:04, 21 October 2013 (UTC))Reply

It's appeared in dozens of films and TV shows. We could list them all but then this would be a list of trivia. If the song was used for a specific dramatic purpose and you can demonstrate that with a reference to an interview or review of any given film, then I see no reason not to include that information. However, these "references in Pop Culture" lists are barely acceptable to most senior editors who view them as Trivia unless some statement is made with a reference beyong.. " So and so used in X move/Tvshow/comicbook/Etc." Instead, say where it was used, why and to what effect with a reference to back up the assertion of fact. then it has some actual meaning to the article. For example, this song was used very effectively in the sequel to the original Cat People (1942) entitled The Curse of the Cat People. The little girl sings it as she plays by herself in her fantasy world and interacts with a "fairy godmother" figure who turns out to be, possibly, the ghost of her ftaher's doomed first wife, Irena. The implication is to suggest that her vision of Irena may simply be a dream or, further that her father's deep and pasionate love for Irena, whom the little girl never knew about, since she is the child of the 2nd wife, may have resulted in irena's spirit returning to watch over the child she could never have with him. it's all simply suggested through use of music and a few lines of dialog here and there. For me to add it here, in the body of the article, I would need to find a review that suggests importance of the song's use. Oddly enough, the version of the song most frequently used in film and Tv is the Bing Crosby cover and yet, the article hear makes it seem as if his version is not the primary version listeners still here today.LiPollis (talk) 08:22, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposal from a Ghostly Fireman?

edit

who dies in a fire just before proposing marriage to her.

Surely, who dies in a fire just after proposing marriage to her? Otherwise, she'd have been proposed to by a ghost.
