Year?

The article says it was published in 1849, our template says 1867, and the ancientlibrary.com copy we refer to says 1870. --Delirium 01:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

OCR'ed versions

Reputation

Good question. I can't say I've seen this work cited very much outside the Internet. I also think the reference to "the relatively slow rate of change of classical scholarship" is potentially misleading; classics may move more slowly than physics or medicine, but scholarship published 164 years ago is old by any standard. I've removed both statements, but by all means restore them if a published source can be found. EALacey (talk) 20:35, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Offline

The online version has been down for weeks. Does anybody know a reason? If the situation remains it would be quite a disaster because Wikipedia has thousands of links to the book.--Hyphantes (talk) 12:27, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
