Notability?
editThe notability of this individual might be dubious. Most reliable sources only give a passing mention of Dick Blakeslee without saying anything other than that he wrote the song 'Passing Through'. Here are the few good sources I found:
- From this academic book about antiwar songs and music: https://books.google.com/books?id=vwzvCgAAQBAJ&pg=PA40&dq=Dick+Blakeslee&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiI7ruehrXpAhXNJTQIHR7sDj0Q6AEILjAB#v=onepage&q=Dick%20Blakeslee&f=false
- From this academic book about Arlo Guthrie: https://books.google.com/books?id=W4vdUdfAKpYC&pg=PA48&dq=Dick+Blakeslee&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwio7M6hh7XpAhVDCTQIHWYYARsQ6AEIPzAD#v=onepage&q=Dick%20Blakeslee&f=false
- Brief mention in this old folklore issue from a academic journal: https://books.google.com/books?id=QWHYAAAAMAAJ&q=Dick+Blakeslee&dq=Dick+Blakeslee&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjw7dvtgLXpAhWSGTQIHT45Af4Q6AEIXTAH.
- Another small mention in this book published by Verso Books (appropriate considering the subject): https://books.google.com/books?id=T0mHDwAAQBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=Dick+Blakeslee&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjw7dvtgLXpAhWSGTQIHT45Af4Q6AEINzAC#v=onepage&q=Dick%20Blakeslee&f=false.
There are a few sources but they say nothing more than name him. I wasn't able to find any reliable or significant information of him with a general google search and looking at some news or music sites. There might be something out there but so far the results don't look great. I will place a notability template for the article so this issue can hopefully be resolved in the near future.--SlackingViceroy (talk) 04:48, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
