I agree with you that the article has progressed a lot. That will make it more stable and less people will feel motivated to "natio-vandalize" it. The regional variation section is however still in an embryonic stage. Dentren | ^Talk 20:31, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I'll try to keep expanding that section. I think the next one I'll go for is the Diablada in Chile. I'd do the "Diablada of Oruro" one first, but I don't want to be accused of biased writing. Aymara religion vs. Andean religion

Do any of you know if there is really a difference between the Andean religions? Is the Aymaran religion the same as that of the Inca? There's a WP article on Inca mythology, but I'm not sure if that article should better be renamed "Andean mythology." I'll go do some more search into this, but it might actually be quite fruitful to figure out the exact nature of these religions.--MarshalN20 | ^Talk 23:03, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

As far is i know Inca mythology is distinct from the religions of the Quechuas and Aymaras. Inca mythology includes for example the myth about Manco Cápac, which does not exist in Aymara traditional beliefs. I think inca the following articles should exists:

• Andean religions (share conceps such as Viracocha and Pachamama)
  • Inca religion (the official religion of the inca empire)
    • Inca mytholohy (stories and legends that explained or symbolized Inca beliefs.)

And remember: Inca≠Quechua≠Andean culture

Well, the Inca are Quechuas, but the Quechuas are not Inca. The main reason I presented this question is due to the practice of the Inca state to "adopt" or "take over" local religions of the different peoples they conquered (which can be divided in the Quechua, Aymara, Amazonic peoples or Chachapoyas, and Picunche or northern Mapuche), and put the deities, legends, and beliefs into their religion or pantheon of Gods (Much the same as the Romans and Greeks did back in Europe). Hence, since the Inca empire took over most of the Andean region, my question revolved around whether they were the same. I think you have answered it correctly, though. Inca religion ≠ Andean religion (Inca religion is a part of Andean religion; much like Inca religion is part of Quechua religion).--MarshalN20 | ^Talk 14:41, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Restructure

Greetings you all, I'm glad to announce that we are having major advances in the dispute, so I have integrated what Marshal and I discussed into a more robust article.
