Devonshire is a Parish in Bermuda. Would it be unreasonable to convert this from a Redirect to a Disambiguation page? Stephen Kenny 16:30, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: Move. Clear consensus that Devon is the primary topic of the term "Devonshire". Cúchullain t/c 21:32, 30 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

DevonshireDevonshire (disambiguation)Devon is the primary topic for Devonshire, so this page should redirect to Devon. Most of the articles listed on the dab page do not use the term Devonshire alone e.g. Duke of Devonshire. Some other places which use the term are very minor in comparison to Devon (approx. 1.1 million people). Jolly Ω Janner 07:58, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: I'm not convinced that the archaic name for the county is really the Primary Topic.PamD 13:04, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Although archaic, it is still used widely as an alternative name for the county by everyday people. Jolly Ω Janner 19:09, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. The English county is the clear primary topic. It was once the most common name for the county and is still commonly used and even more commonly understood. I don't think anybody in Britain would not recognise it referred to Devon. Nothing else on the disambiguation page comes close to being so significant. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:24, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
