Nonsense sentence

edit

"The Evaluation comprised the assistance to the four priority sectors for example transport, agriculture and rural development, environment and natural resource and decentralisation":

  1. Does not specify which/whose/what "Evaluation"
  2. Does not specify what assistance (all Danish government assistance? some subset?)
  3. Uses the malformed verb 'comprise to' (in English things 'comprise of', they do not 'comprise to')
  4. (I've already dealt with the fact that it isn't talking "examples")

I had a try using Google Translate:

  1. It mentions no "Evaluation"
  2. It seems to indicate that this is all Danish government aid (and that it is aimed at poverty reduction).
  3. It states that the four sectors are in fact: Agriculture, Environment, Transportation & Education.

I would therefore propose the following:

Danish government aid to Nicaragua is aimed at poverty reduction, and is provided through four sector programmes: Agriculture, Environment, Transportation and Education, as well as support in other areas.

Given the imperfections of Google Translate, I cannot be sure that this is accurate -- but it seems likely to be closer to it than the original, so I'll introduce it unless somebody complains. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 12:08, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
