Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this article. As part of an assignment, I’d like to list for consideration some edits and ideas I would like to contribute. I am compiling a bibliography here (Demyelinating disease|Bibliography) to fill out the lacking citations and to update information for research done in the last 6 years.

  • Several sections appear to lack detail where relevant information is available, especially considering the most recent citation is from 2017. I would like to update sections according to new findings particularly the treatment, diagnosis, and epidemiology sections.
  • The introduction could be more concise and provide a more complete synopsis of the article. Some of the present information may be better suited for the body of the article.
  • The article is lacking citations in some sections.
  • The list in the ‘Signs and Symptoms’ section features some redundancies and could be more concise. Some readers may benefit from a narrative description of symptoms.
  • I would like to edit the format to be in line with this wikiproject’s manual of style

I am currently editing the evolutionary considerations portion of this article but am having trouble finding secondary sources. Does anyone know of secondary sources such as review papers that relate to the evolutionary explanations for demyelinating disease? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knburke (talkcontribs) 02:51, 4 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

MS is not introduced properly into the article. It is unclear if MS +Demyelinating disease (WikiXert (talk) 06:45, 11 February 2013 (UTC))Reply

From Biosthmors

PNS and CNS, when spelled out, should not be capitalized. More to come. Biosthmors (talk) 21:03, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Same thing with Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Analysis[4] Quantitative Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) [4] Diagnostic Criteria. Only proper nouns are capitalized. More to come. Biosthmors (talk) 21:14, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are awesome. Thank you very much for taking the time to review my article. I know there are a couple grammatical things I need to fix and I intend to expand my Diagnosis section. Chaking32 21:20, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is saying "The term describes the effect of the disease, rather than its cause" necessary? I suggest removing it. Biosthmors (talk) 04:56, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Neuroleptics can cause demyelination." is such a short sentence (and a one sentence paragraph). I recommend merging it into the previous paragraph. Biosthmors (talk) 04:58, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

"More information can be obtained on the wiki pages for these disorders. See “Types of Demyelinating Diseases” " is unnecessary. Biosthmors (talk) 05:00, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am expanding my diagnosis section with short descriptions of the methods. The descriptions on the pages I linked to are pretty succinct. My question: Is it illegal to borrow part of a description from another wiki page? If this isn't allowed, I am more than willing to revisit the page and add my own version of the description. A minor formatting thing: put references after punctuation, and quotes inside of punctuation. So instead of:

Lorem ipsum<ref>some ref</ref>.

use

Lorem ipsum.<ref>some ref</ref>

Thanks! Disavian (talk) 21:37, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much. I have applied the changes to the rest of my references. I appreciate you putting my references into columns. Simple things make the page look so much better. Chaking32 Chaking32 (talk) 21:56, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
See WP:REFSPACE for examples. I see more that can be done in this regard. =) Biosthmors (talk) 21:59, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
